About Us

Our Passion

At OMA, our passion is simple: to make exceptional bread and honest food.

We began with a love for artisan sourdough and a belief that good food should be made with patience, care, and respect for craft. As OMA grows, our menu and our community will grow with us — but our values will remain the same.

We take the time to prepare our breads, pastries, cakes, breakfasts, and lunches the right way — by hand, with natural ingredients, and guided by seasonality and simplicity. Whether you are picking up a loaf to take home or enjoying a quiet coffee in our flagship, we want every experience to feel thoughtful and genuine.

At the heart of OMA is community. We believe food is at its best when it brings people together. Everyone is welcome here.

We aim to work responsibly, waste less, and support the people around us. Wherever possible, we choose carefully sourced ingredients and support small suppliers, while keeping our baking rooted in time-honoured methods — including long-fermented doughs and carefully maintained sourdough starters.

We bake with human hands and natural ingredients. We are ordinary people who simply want to make extraordinary things — and to bring warmth, honesty, and humanity back into everyday food.

Nothing gives us more joy than bread baked fresh, made with patience, and shared with others.

Our Story

OMA began with something simple: a deep love for bread, coffee, and the quiet happiness they bring.

Our founder, Badar, was a regular at his favourite artisan bakery in Seeb — a place he visited several times a week. When it suddenly closed, it felt like more than losing a good loaf. It meant losing a small ritual, a place of comfort, and a standard of craftsmanship that had become part of daily life.

Rather than accepting that loss, Badar took a leap.

He founded Muscat Bread — a dedicated online sourdough bakery built around what he believed mattered most: natural fermentation, honest ingredients, and bread made with patience and care.

What began as a simple idea soon became a growing community — people who tasted the difference and kept coming back.

After a year of building Muscat Bread, OMA was born.

Opened as our flagship bakery and café in Al Khuwair, OMA was created to bring the experience to life — a place where customers can see the craft up close, enjoy exceptional coffee and food, and experience the warmth and hospitality behind every loaf we make.

Here you will find our signature sourdough breads, pastries, cakes, sandwiches, and coffee — all guided by the same philosophy that started it all:

Keep it simple.
Do it properly.
Never compromise on craftsmanship.

We hope OMA becomes part of your own daily ritual — a place for good bread, good coffee, and meaningful moments shared with others.

Making Good Food Go Further

Our community supports us every day — and we believe it is our responsibility to give back whenever we can.

At OMA and Muscat Bread, we work carefully to minimise waste and make thoughtful use of what we produce. Bread and baking take time, care, and good ingredients, and we believe that good food should never be wasted unnecessarily.

When we have surplus bread, pastries, or cakes that remain suitable for sharing, we set them aside and donate them to local charities, community initiatives, and people in need whenever possible.

If you know of a charity or community organisation that could benefit from regular donations, we would be glad to hear from you.

We also try to make responsible choices in how we operate. Wherever possible, we use sustainable packaging, and when this is not available, we choose recyclable or compostable alternatives.

We believe small decisions, made consistently and with good intention, can make a meaningful difference — for our community, our city, and the environment around us.
